Erica Briones Vozmediano

A humanist by training, her paths took her from gender studies to sociology and from there to public health. She has taught this subject in health sciences degrees such as nursing or nutrition. Multidisciplinarity is inherent to her person and this is also how she understands research and teaching. In her study, she tries to approach women's health from as human a perspective as possible, approaching their experiences in the first person. The qualitative methodology allows her to interview women with fibromyalgia, women with multiple chemical sensitivity, women who have suffered gender violence, women affected by various axes of oppression such as capitalism and migration, which also cause pain; to learn from their experience and needs, in an attempt to give them visibility and a voice in the scientific community.
